Amity

One of my favourite clothing stores in Cork has to be Amity, it's an absolute gem of a place. They supply vintage inspired clothing. Below is an excerpt about what they do from their site.

Amity is a ladies boutique that sells affordable independent designer women’s fashion. Amity is located on French Church Street in Cork’s fashionable and quirky Huguenot district. Amity stocks over 30 independent designers from all over the world, majority of which are exclusive to Amity in Cork.
Although only just over 1 year old they’ve already attracted a large devoted following through their unique selection of vintage inspired collections in which they only stock 8 to 10 of each style.
Amity sells everything from retro style t-shirts, handmade vintage inspired jewellery, shoes and accessories, handmade retro style lampshades to a dress for a wedding and even bridesmaid dresses.

Rockhopper penguin

I think penguins are rather funny and cute so I had to make this stuffed toy out of felt when I saw a pic of a rockhopper penguin.

This is a Rockhopper penguin, they are called this because they literally hop from one rock to another. His eyebrows are pretty wicked aren't they?

Air Raid

I made this 40's vintage style tea dress with my mother Lylah. I had so much fun choosing the fabric, the trim and making the dress itself. I wanted the trim to suit the print and the dress, so I feel the loops somewhat echo the shape of the air plane wings. (At least in my mind they do!) It has a concealed zip and is fully lined. I bought yards and yards of material and I cannot wait to make the next dress! Our weather is starting to resemble summer (finally...) so I'll hopefully have an opportunity to wear it!

Tshirt yarn

I finally made some t-shirt yarn. It's really easy, quick and fun to make. Great way to recycle any dodgey, unloved t-shirts and making them into something more lovable. Not quite sure what to use it for just yet but I'm sure I'll be inspired somewhere down the line.
